Head Teacher's blog

  • A little bit of healthy competition....

What a fantastic House Charities week. The competition was fierce.  There was a real buzz in the gym every lunchtime.

  • Welcome back!

Welcome back!   We were hoping to return to some Spring-like weather, and despite our crocus’s raising their heads above ground by reception, sadly it has remained resolutely wet and cold!

  • Happy Half Term

So the first half of Spring term has drawn to a close.   Its been a very busy half term with our students working diligently towards their exams, whether it be Year 11 GCSEs or mid year assessments.   Year 11 have had their PSHE day on setting goals and a 5 part plan for perseverance, building resilience in our young people.

  • Resilience is the key

The theme of the week has been resilience and how to build it.

Mr Hayfield has been holding very informative assemblies on mental health, giving helpful strategies and support structures that our students can use.

  • Goodbye January....

Goodbye January! And what a long month it has been.

  • Life Ready, STEM and Careers...

We are now at the end of our second week into the new term and despite the very soggy conditions the students are studying well.

  • Welcome Back!

Welcome back to the start of the new Spring term.  Everyone has settled back into school very nicely and it is lovely to see all our students back after the particularly virulent bout of illness before Christmas.

  • Only one week to go....

Only one week to go now until the end of term.   And what a busy week we have had!  Last night’s Winter Wonderland concert was magical.   The talent we have in our students is outstanding.    A big thanks to Mr Johnson for arranging such a wonderful event, we are certainly all in the festive spirit now.

  • Countdown to Christmas...

The Christmas trees are up and beautifully decorated.  The countdown to the festive holiday has begun.   Despite the growing excitement, our students have continued to work very hard.
