Head Teacher's blog

  • What wet weather!

This week Year 8 and 9 have been taking part in their PSHE lesson.   They really engaged  in them and the lessons were very informative.

  • Welcome back to our final half term

Our final half term of this academic year has started – I just don’t know where the past year has gone.  Everyone is working really hard.
  • What a way to the end the half term

And so another half term draws to close.   We have had a very exciting end to the week, with our Year 9 boys football playing in the Birmingham Schools final at Villa Park.

  • Where do the weeks go?

Another busy week has flown by and we are rapidly approaching the end of another half term.

  • Exams, Prefects and Uniform!

Despite the very wintry, wet weather this week everyone at Light Hall  has remained  cheerful and focused on hard work. GCSE written examinations begin in earnest next week.

  • Well, what a term!

Well, what a term!   Our students have really lived up to our core values.   Their love of learning has shone through with excellent progress being made across all year groups.

  • Despite the return of the cold.....

Very well done to all our year groups who have coped with the horrible cold weather and are still smiling.   Year 7 made excellent progress during their PHSE day this week.

  • PHSE, Parent App & the Police

Another busy week in school.   The police have visited as part of our PHSE curriculum and have worked closely with Year 8 on how to keep themselves safe

  • Charity begins at Home!

What an excellent House Charity week!  We are so proud of all our students.

  • Cupcakes for Comic Relief....

Well, what a windy week!   Despite the blustery conditions our students have braved Storm Gareth to bring all their fantastic cakes and red nose designs into school supporting Comic Relief.  Mr McCrainor and I had an enormously difficult time choosing the winner as the standard was so high.
