  • Charity begins at Home!

What an excellent House Charity week!  We are so proud of all our students.

  • Cupcakes for Comic Relief....

Well, what a windy week!   Despite the blustery conditions our students have braved Storm Gareth to bring all their fantastic cakes and red nose designs into school supporting Comic Relief.  Mr McCrainor and I had an enormously difficult time choosing the winner as the standard was so high.

  • Positivety and Progress

    Welcome back after half term.

Students have returned with a very positive attitude.

  • We are the Champions!

Many congratulations to our Year 9 basketball team who won the borough final, beating Arden 44-30.  We are so proud of them all.   The shield is now residing proudly in our trophy cabinet and our boys have resolved to keep it there – we last won this in 2008.  All the boys have all been to sign the golden book for their sporting excellence.    I was delighted to shake the hand of Sam L, Hamad S, Tyler P, Charlie C, Zain M, Josh P, Ethan B, Callum B and James V.

  • Busy being industrious....

Once again the week has flown by with all the busy activity in school.  We are now 3 weeks into the Spring term and everyone has settled down very nicely.

  • Looking to the future...

We have again focussed on preparing for the future in this, the second of our life ready careers themed weeks.   Year 9 have taken part in enterprise activities demonstrating their problem solving and team working skills as they worked on their STEM projects.

  • Endeavour to suceed...

What a cold week! Our students and staff have coped very well in the cold snap and have continued to work hard and participate actively in all our sporting and house events.  It was great to see so many of our students taking part in the table tennis competition yesterday after school and congratulations to Endeavour house on winning the tournament.

  • Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!   I would like to begin by thanking all our students for their hard work this term.

  • Wow - what a night

Another busy week here at Light Hall, culminating in our awards evening last night.

  • It's all about Challenge(r)...

As we reach the end of an unseasonably warm week, the students have certainly been turning up the heat on their studies.
