Fantastic Performance

Light Hall’s performance of ‘Hamlet” at the Crescent Theatre on Tuesday evening was excellent. It was both moving and entertaining.  Our students must be congratulated on presenting such a polished and professional interpretation of the play. My thanks to Miss Howard and Mrs Wyatt  for making it happen.

All students have been supporting Children in Need today with our “Wear an accessory in your house colour”  competition. It was great to see the staff joining in too, as all members of staff are members of a house. In total we raised £512.78

Thank you to everyone for joining in.

On Wednesday we said goodbye to Eddie Johnson, one of our caretakers, who has served the school for 43 years. The mayor came to offer her best wishes for Eddie’s retirement. His family were able to join in the afternoon tea celebrations, along with student representatives from all year groups  who presented Eddie with cards signed by all the students.  We will miss Eddie and wish him all the very best in his retirement.

My congratulations to Daniel G, who has been selected to compete in the British Figure Skating championships. It is a tremendous achievement and we wish him all the best for the competition.

Very well done to the following students who have entered their names in the Golden Book this week: Akash S, Emily L and Andreas B for outstanding work in geography, Tom P and Sereena H for excellence in English, Eleanor O for wonderful work in music and Bethany for her excellent science.

My best wishes for relaxing and happy weekend.
