Happy Easter

This morning Heads of Faculty and governors congratulated our Excellence Award winners at our celebration breakfast. So many of our students have worked so hard and achieved so much. We are very proud of them, as I am sure parents are too.

House Charities week has, again, been another highly successful event in the House Calendar. The vast majority of students have engaged very positively in all the activity; we are still counting all the money raised. The good weather meant that activities could take place outside, as well as in the gym. House Captains, in particular, have demonstrated excellent organisation and management skills, with so many of our younger students demonstrating how creative they can be to raise money for charity.

It was splendid to see our year 7s playing rugby against a variety of teams after school on Wednesday. Very well done to all the lads for their participation and sportsmanship.

Year 11s are now completely focused on their examinations. Many will be coming into school over Easter to supplement the revision they are doing at home. My thanks to all the staff who are giving up their time to support our young people.

I had a very pleasant lunch on Wednesday with a number of students, who had been nominated by their Heads of Year for their excellent work and participation in school life. I have also been pleased to congratulate the following students this week: Eva B, Tobias C, Matthew H, Joe K, Nathan H, Matty and Adam L for being such excellent ambassadors for the school, Lillian D for her outstanding English work and Adam J for achieving a qualification outside of school. They have all signed the Golden Book.

Students and staff have all worked very hard this term. It is now time to recharge our batteries. My very best wishes to everyone for a relaxing, fulfilling and safe holiday.
