Our Students rise to the Challenge

Our Students rise to the Challenge

Despite some miserable weather, spirits have remained happy at Light Hall this week. 7AKCR and 8EVSO led very thought-provoking assemblies on the theme of success. Well done and thank you to all students who took part in these excellent presentations.

There is much success to celebrate this week.  Mr Blunt, Mr Cooney and Mr Gallagher were all very successful in their marathon running last Sunday, raising much money for their respective charities. Jilani H represented Solihull in the West Midlands Cross Country and came 5th – an outstanding achievement.

I have seen some excellent work in lessons this week, most notably in technology. Our students have been demonstrating their impressive design skills and culinary expertise.

Our year 10 and 11 students are also busy planning for a successful future. Many attended the Careers Convention on Wednesday evening and now have a number of ideas for their next steps after Light Hall. Thank you to Mrs Mohomed for helping to organise this event.

I have had the pleasure of meeting the following students to sign the Golden Book; George C, Owen W, Josh L and Lewis F for their outstanding community service. We are always so proud of the way in which our students live out our core value of care and respect, not only at school but in the community as well. Very well done to these young men.

Students and staff have worked extremely hard this half term and we are all proud of the  numerous achievements. Thank you to all parents who have supported our young people and the school over the past weeks. Now it is time for a little rest and relaxation! My best wishes for a happy and safe half term holiday. Please enter some content for your blog post here
