Marvellous MacMillan

Mr Barr and myself judged the entries in true bake-off  style with so many amazing cakes and biscuits it was unbelievable.   We had brownies, cookies, cupcakes, tiffin, Victoria sandwiches to name but a few.  The quality was superb and the taste sublime.   We took our judging duties very seriously with Mr Barr even offering a lucky few a Paul Hollywood handshake!  On a more serious note we are so proud of the way our students supported the MacMillan charity, again living out our core values of sound moral compass, care and respect.  I commend everyone that supported our event.

Behaviour around school is exemplary and staff and students had their first fire drill this week.   They undertook this sensibly and were so quiet when lined up outside you could have heard a pin drop.

Finally, our completely refurbished sports hall and changing rooms are opening next week.   We were so lucky to have gained funding through the CIF bid process, as this is not something the school could have afforded to have done without extra support (£500K).  The floor has been excavated and re-laid, the lights have been changed, new boilers installed for the heating and walls painted – the children now have first class facility to use.   We are currently preparing our bids for next year for other parts of the school. We will keep you updated of our progress.

Wishing you a lovely weekend.
