What a way to the end the half term

What a way to the end the half term

The atmosphere was so tense, and our boys played so well – we couldn’t believe that the last goal was scored in the final minutes.   The standard of the football was outstanding and I am so proud of how our boys conducted themselves.   Whilst we lost 2-1 they can still hold their heads high from the level of skill shown.  All the team have been down to sign the golden book and we have ordered football merit braids for them all.

I have also been involved in the interview process for Head Boy and Head Girl this week.  All I can say is “wow”.  The amount of thought and preparation before the interview, and the maturity, calmness and self-assurance shown during the meeting was outstanding.   These young people will clearly do extremely well in whatever avenue they choose to pursue after Light Hall.   Congratulations to:

  • Head Boy – Oliver H
  • Head Girl – Izzy P
  • Deputy Head Boy – Josh H
  • Deputy Head Boy – Luke N
  • Deputy Head Girl – Katie A
  • Deputy Head Girl – Evie M

Our sincere thanks to our outgoing prefects who have really done such a good job thus far.  They have raised the bar even higher for the incoming prefects.

Our uniform consultation has now closed.  Thank you for all the responses received.  All comments were noted and considered with feedback given, if possible.  The revised uniform policy was ratified at the Governing body meeting on Tuesday.  I attach a copy for your reference.  For clarity, the current year 7 -10 will be given a new house tie at the start of the new academic year so will not need to purchase one.  The incoming Year 7 will be required to purchase a tie alongside their other uniform.    There is no expectation that any child, currently attending this school, will need to change their PE kit.

Wishing you all a happy and safe half term.  Can I ask all parents to remind their children of the importance of the following safety codes, when out and about in the holidays.

I look forward to seeing everyone again on 3rd June.
