Red Nose Day Fun!!

Students and staff have thrown themselves into Red Nose day with a whole variety of  fund raising activities planned and run by the students.  Year 7 organised a “Soak the teacher” competition at lunchtime and Mr Barr and Mr McCrainor were just two of the many staff who joined in the fun – and got thoroughly soaked!  Our year 10 entrepreneur and talented baker, Alex Bilson, provided lots of red cakes for sale.  Year 9 took over the dining room and organised a red themed menu – with the support of our catering staff.   These are just a few of the many activities which have gone on today during break and lunchtime. I am very proud of the way the students, led by the senior prefects, have entered into the spirit of the day and have lived out our core values of active participation and care and respect for everyone.

Year 11 are to be congratulated on the way in which they have conducted themselves in the mock examinations this week.  This bodes well for the summer.

I have had the pleasure of congratulating many students this week for their outstanding work. They have recorded their names in the Golden Book.  Very well done to: Sandeep Singh and Cameron Mclelland for their work in maths,

James Harrison and Francis Morgan for English, Charlie Durrant, Ben Gregory, Hannah Pettigrew, Emma Dallow , Tom Prior, Ben Clark, James Hodgkin and Samuel Wood for their science.

My best wishes for a relaxing weekend.
