Lots of visitors...

We have been pleased to welcome year 5 students for our taster days this week.  It has been a pleasure to have them in school, they have sampled some of our inspiring and motivating lessons here at Light Hall, had the opportunity to meet our current students and enjoy our extensive facilities.  We have thoroughly enjoyed having them, they were a credit to themselves, their parents and their schools.

Women in science has been the theme of today. We have welcomed the Soroptimists in school  for their “Skirting Science” conference. Over two hundred girls from across the West Midlands have been sampling workshops in science and engineering. It has been a fascinating day. Everyone has thoroughly enjoyed it and gained much from it.

Our own budding engineers successfully took part in the Big Bang STEM science event at the Ricoh arena yesterday. My thanks to Mr Turvey and Mr Rahim for training our students so well.

Congratulations to Joe H and Tom P on entering their names into the Golden Book for community service.

My best wishes for a relaxing and fulfilling weekend.
