If so, we have just the course for you! We are working with Solihull College’s Community Education and Skills for Life Department to offer you the opportunity to achieve the OCR Level 1 and 2 Adult Numeracy, which is a nationally recognised qualification.
The classes will be held here at Light Hall School completely free of charge and will take place each Thursday at 7-9pm from 16th September to 16th December 2010.
Units include problem solving; interpreting tables, charts and graphs; using decimals; using fractions; area perimeter and volume; ratios; units of measure; percentages; money, time distance and temperature; probability and using a calculator. The sessions will consist of tutor led workshops, group work and individual work.
The course is not basic but equivalent to GCSE level and will require a reasonable level of commitment from participants. Homework will also be set each week. During the final session you would be expected to sit a short assessment to be awarded the qualification.
