  • Rugby - Year 7s

    On Wednesday 5th April Light Hall School hosted their first rugby tournament in a number of years with the year 7s taking to the field. They were joined by Arden who brought 2 teams, Alderbrook and Coleshill.

  • Inspire to Aspire

    Light Hall will be welcoming into school a group of ambassadors from National Grid on Friday 6th January as part of our ‘Inspire to Aspire’ annual career day for Year 8.

  • Prize Evening 2016

    Many congratulations to all those students selected for an award at our for Prize Evening in November 2016.  We were delighted to welcome Joanne Malin to our school, to present the prizes to our worthy winners.

  • Summer Production 'Bugsy Malone'

    The hit musical Bugsy Malone comes to Light Hall School!  The story tells of the rise of Bugsy Malone and the battle for power between Fat Sam and Dandy Dan.  Set in a gangster-ridden New York, the show includes great songs, some hilarious slapstick comedy and a talented cast of enthusiastic actors!  With splurge-wars galore, you’re in for a messy but entertaining night!  Join us at the Speakeasy for a great evening’s entertainment.

  • Summer Concert 7th July

    Our annual Summer Concert will be a celebration of music from our talented students!  As ever, the choir, mashup band and ukulele group will be joined by soloists from all year groups as well as some of our rock and pop bands.  It promises to be a really entertaining evening of music.

  • Students Motivated on Shakespeare Day

    To celebrate the 400th Anniversary of William Shakespeare on 23rd April 2016 there were Quizzes and Word searches in the library 2nd break on Friday 22nd April.

  • Inspiring New York City Performing Arts Trip

    Light Hall experienced the Razzle Dazzle of Broadway over the Easter holidays as 37 drama, music and media students made the trek over the Atlantic to see how musical theatre is done across the pond.

  • Easter Revision Information

    Information regarding Year 11 revision sessions during the Easter holiday:


    • The final timetable for Easter is available
    • Only students who have returned reply slips can attend. Unfortunately, others will be turned away
    • All students must arrive 10 mins before a session at the fire exit door to the Jill Allport Suite next to the front entrance. Latecomers will miss the session
    • All students must leave the site when dismissed by their teacher
    • Please ensure students come ready to learn!
  • Orchestra of Solihull Schools in Inspiring Concert

    On 7th March 2016, 13 Light Hall musicians joined over 200 other Solihull students to form a mass orchestra, performing a selection of the BBC Ten Pieces.

    The rationale behind this exciting project was that nationally, orchestras and classical music are in decline.
