What Wet Weather!

Very well done to Challenger House, who won the competition overall.  However, there were significant contributions in every house.  Staff, too, have spent their Thursday evening baking. A special mention goes to Miss Baxter who definitely should enter Bake Off next year!  Can I thank and commend everyone who took part, the effort everyone had gone to was outstanding.   I also had great fun sampling these marvellous cakes.

Despite the wet weather our students’ behaviour was impeccable during the fire evacuation drill this week and I am confident that staff and students know what to do in an emergency.

Well done to our year 10 rugby team in their match against Tudor Grange and also our year 11 netballers.

I have visited many lessons this week and have continued to see much hard work.   Our students have been able to explain, very well, what they were learning.  I was particularly impressed with the depth of responses given to me by our historians in year 11.

This week our house assemblies have been led by Mr Barr, looking at the theme of motivation.   He inspired us all with his account of what had motivated him in his teaching and sporting career.  He spoke about how we can all respond with resilience to setbacks in life, which, after all, makes the biggest difference to our success.

Finally, I had the pleasure of meeting and congratulating Jake T for his outstanding work in geography, Laney D, Katie A and Aimee B for community service and Lucy J for excellent homework.  They all signed the golden book and gained some well-deserved house points.
