Happy half term!

Thank you to everyone for the effort put in.   Everyone is tired and now deserves the rest and relaxation on offer next week.  I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.

Key stage 4 students in years 9 and 10 have been studying PSHE on Monday and Tuesday, respectively.  I saw some excellent discussion and very thoughtful points being made by our students when I visited the lessons on those days.   Year 11 students had their career day on Wednesday.  Many were keen to tell me how much useful information they gleaned from the sessions on the day.   I hope everyone now has some idea about what they will be doing after Light Hall.  Do remember that Mrs Mohomed is here to help anyone who is struggling or needs additional help making their plans for next September.

Student councils have met this week, giving their views on the quality of education they receive.  I am always so impressed by our students’ incisive comments and am very much looking forward to hearing a summary of their views and looking at ways we can respond to their feedback.

Every parent/carer should be receiving their first set of behaviour for learning grades for their child today.   Please do discuss these grades with your child.  Progress and development leaders are currently analysing the grades and will be in touch with parents, after half term, if they feel that your child needs extra support or encouragement.

Thank you to all parents for you continued support in encouraging our students to give their best, all of the time.

Miss Johnson has led House assemblies this week about our anti-bullying campaign.   Our anti-bullying champions introduced themselves and spoke about the work they do and how they support in school.   All house tutor groups will be working on the theme of anti-bullying in their tutor times during the week beginning the 11th November.

Congratulations to Ria B and Megan W who have been to see me to sign the golden book for their outstanding work in IT.

Very best wishes for a relaxing half term break.   We look forward to seeing everyone back in school on Monday 4th November.
