What a busy half term….

Year 11 have been focusing on study skills and revision techniques in preparation for their GCSE exams in the summer. I have seen some of their plans for the work they are going to be doing over the half term break. It is good to see so many of our year 11s focused and acting as good role models for the rest of the year groups.

Learning and achievement have continued outside school hours as well. Year 9 students are currently in Belgium, visiting the First World War Battle Fields to enhance their historical knowledge and understanding of this significant period in our history.

Our musicians were complimented on their performance at the Rock and Pop Concert on Monday evening and Hannah P in year 11 has been selected to play cricket for England at Lords in March. Many congratulations to all of them.

We wish our skiers bon voyage as they head off to the mountains in Andorra for half term. We look forward to hearing all about their trip, when they return.

I have had the pleasure of congratulating  David B, Harpal K, Katie H and Manjeet K for their excellent work in drama this week.  I also met Mia M also for her outstanding work in Maths. They have all signed the Golden Book.

My thanks to all the students and staff for their hard work this half term and to all the parents for their continued support of Light Hall and our young people.

Very best wishes to everyone for a safe and happy half term break. We look forward to seeing all our students on Monday 27th February.
