Inspirational Visit From Lord Faulkner of Worcester

Lighthall School hosted a talk from a member of the House of Lords on Friday 22nd January to encourage students to become more engaged with the political and parliamentary process.  Lord Faulkner met with Year 10 students for an hour to talk about the work and role of the House of Lords. This was followed by a question and answer session on various aspects of the parliamentary process and life at Westminster generally.

That was just one of the questions asked of Lord Faulkner of Worcester on Friday afternoon when he came to talk to Year 10 about the work of the House of Lords.  It was a fascinating talk and our students listened carefully and asked a wide range of questions afterwards, demonstrating a keen interest in how parliament works.

Inspire to Achieve Day.

Light Hall School held its Inspire to Achieve day on Friday 8th January – The purpose of the day was to help pupils have a greater understanding of the world of work and the skills and qualities needed in the workplace today.

Despite the threat of snow, all students have continued to work hard and focus on their studies. It was a pleasure to meet so many parents of year 8 students last night at our pathways evening.

Students  and  staff have returned refreshed after the Christmas break and everyone has quickly settled down to hard work. The week has been very productive and it has been a pleasure to see everyone back at school again.
